POSITION SUMMARY: Engineer with 8- Years experience of working on Industrial construction projects as E&I Construction Engineer. Experience of working on Oil & Gas Industry for Electrical & Instrumentation construction is essential. Purpose Purpose of this position is to execute Electrical & Instrumentation construction at Project sites. Nature and Scope The position will be based at one of the construction project site/s in India & will report to Site Construction Manager. DIMENSIONS Average Annual Portfolio: Operating Budget (direct labor + overheads): Annual CTC: Number of Direct Reports (approximate): None Overall Supervision (approximate): Contractual Project base ~ months extendable with mutual agreement Other Factors: PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES • Participate in the inspection and acceptance of associated activities from other disciplines to commence E&I construction activities • Check and update IFC drawing issue status with document control and audit/align contractors • Proactively plan construction sequence of: Electrical & Instrumentation installation, test & charge like Switchgear panels, Power & Lighitng transformers, VFD Panels, LDBs, Fire Alarm & Detection Panels, HVAC system, lighting systems, UPS & Battery chargers, DCS & Analyzer Panels, Field instruments like Transmitters, gauges, pr. & level switches, flowmeters, , Inst. Tubing & calibration, cold & hot loop checks, Stroke checking and function of control/on off valves and actuators, Cable trey and cable pulling, gland & termination, earthing & lightening protection. Elect. Heat tracings, Motor testing, terminations & solo runs etc. • Plan microlevel activities schedule with E&I contractor and prioritize in line with project requirements • Review and approve contractors key supervisors CVs for their professional skills and competency levels in line with those requirements per contract • Assess contractors resource & manpower requirements and notify in advance to enhance as and when required. • Participate in daily/weekly/monthly progress review meetings and voice concerns. • Coordinate with home office to address/resolve engineering queries; maintain log of all such queries and provide input to construction manager for capturing this input as lessons learnt • Ensure Method statements and Job safety analysis(JSA) are issued, performed and documented prior to start of any activity and issue of permit to work. • Receive contractors Request for inspections for all E&I Construction activities, attend to those and provide necessary clearance to proceed after verification per IFC drawings/specifications •• Verify, contractor proposals for material supply, test equipment & sub-contractor if any, review and approve the same in line with AP specifications and code requirements. • Ensure implementation of Safety at site by leading the examples and actively participating in all the EH&S events, programs organized on site, encourage others who are doing safe jobs and be the first to stop any unsafe job if notices. • Verify contractor invoice measurements for the works executed, certify reconciliation of consumables and wrt scope of contract. • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure sequential work progress • Lead all activities related to authority approval eg Central Electrical Authority(CEA) • Check and verify Incoming materials, support material controller in preparing inspection reports, verify inspection release notes and material Test certificates, report discrepancies • Prepare vendor deployment schedule for install, test and comm. Of E&I equipment and share with site construction manager • Verify and recommend extra works/change orders if any to construction manager in line with contract scope • Check IFC drawings and verify the quantity of actual work to be executed and notify the changes if any wrt Contract Bill of Quantity to Construction Manager • Capture site inputs on lessons learnt, compile and create a database to be used for future • Get the changes marked on IFC drawings from contractor and issue as built marked up drawings in line with contract requirements • Ensure compliance of KPIs as set forth by Construction Manager • Verify Final quantities executed at the end of the job, issue variation statements if any, certify and provide site clearances necessary in consultation with Construction Manager for settling contractors claims and Full & Final Bills • Lead and coordinate closely with Comm. Team for inspection, tests and pre-commissioning of associated Electrical & Instrumentation Installation • Check and certify contractors reconciliation statement of free issue materials MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS BE/NA Degree in Electrical & Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering from reputed Institute with 8- years experience or Diploma with ~ years relevant experience Willing to work on project sites across India Excellent communication and presentation skills in English language Well-versed with Excel, power point and word
